10 top favorite books of all time...

Even though no one actually reads this blog,it's basically like an online journal- so, as promised, today I am going to blog about my 10 favorite books of all time (in no particular order). Here we go...

1. The Help
~ This book is an excellent read about segregation in the South. It's not boring either, it's told from many different perspectives- so that keeps the story moving along.

2. Mandy
~ This is probably my most favorite book of all time. It is about an orphan girl who runs away and finds an old cottage to live in. She fixes it up herself and no one knows she's living there. It's a really cute book and full of surprises.

3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
~ Of course I have to put some Harry on my list. Out of all of the books, this one has to be my favorite. I've read it 7+ times and I'm just literally in love with this book. I won't describe it cause it's kinda obvious as to what it is about.

4. Eat, Pray, Love
~ If you're looking for an inspiring read, then this is definitely it. This book is chalked full of inspiring quotes and the whole story (which is true,by the way) is just amazing. It's about a woman who is really depressed and just went through a really bad divorce and she decided to take the year off and go see the world. She goes to Italy (Eat), India (Pray), and Bali (Love). In each place that Liz travels to, it shows the significance of the word that is parallel to the place. It's a great book.

5. Once Upon a Curse
~ This is more of a "pre-teen" book, but I still find it to be very good. It's actually a series, but it's about a princess who had a curse set on her and she's trying to stop it... It's kinda confusing to explain, but it's a pretty good read.

6. A Series of Unfortunate Events
~ I've loved these books for a long time. Don't let the movie throw you off- it sucked. The books are so good- they're filled with tons of mystery, excitement, action, and suspense. Although you have to read all 13, otherwise you'll be confused and "hanging". But it's a very good read.

7. Frog and Toad Series
~ Yes, I know these are little kids books- but they are so darn cute. I grew up reading these books and now my little sister has started reading them. The series is about two friends ("Toad" and "Frog") and their adventures together in the swamp. These books are actually considered "chapter books"- so if you're extremely bored or just want a cute book to read, this is definitely it.

8. Hugo Cabret
~ This is a really remarkable and interesting book. I guess that it's a movie now, but I read it a while back. It's a really interesting book about this kid who operates some clock thing (I don't remember the plot too well)- but it's a really well written and interesting book. I really enjoyed it.
9. The Art of War
~ This is a really old book written by some Chinese ruler, but, oddly enough, I really enjoyed it. It was basically a story about how to win a "war" or, in other words, an argument or get what you want. I also realized that the movie "Mean Girls" is based off of this book too- so I just found the whole book extremely interesting after that.

10. The Book of Mormon

~ This is a typical mormon answer, but a "must" for my list. After all, this book has impacted my life in so many good ways. Even though I dread reading it at times- it's so interesting and uplifting once I do. To think that we have a record of what happened in the ancient times is truly amazing to me. I love reading about the Army of Helaman, Nephi going to get the plates, and Lehi's visions. It's so incredibly interesting to me and really strengthens my testimony a lot because I know for a fact that all these accounts are true. So this is a really really great and interesting read.

So that wraps up my Top 10 Favorite Books list... I have way more favorites, but this is just a list to help YOU if you're looking for good books to read or in case you were interested as to what my favorite books are.

XOXO
Mikayla
