As I was lounging around my house the week after Christmas in my regular holiday break apparel, sweatpants and an old shirt, I realized that I hadn't made or even thought about my New Years Resolutions for this year. So, I began to reflect on what I really wanted to accomplish in 2013 and quickly scribbled the ideas down. This is what I came up with...
1.) Workout at least once a week.
- I am the most unhealthy person you will ever meet. However, I'm also the skinniest person you will ever meet. Skinny is not the goal, in shape is.
2.) No chicken/burgers from the high school cafeteria more than once a week.
- This is a big problem for me. I LOVE the chicken burgers at my school and honestly, there are not very many other options, so I end up eating this like everyday. See? Unhealthy.
3.) Pay tithing every time $20 is put into my account.
- Like I've said in previous posts, I'm HORRIBLE about paying tithing. But I know that I won't be able to be fully temple-worthy without doing it, so I'm making a change.
4.) Read 1 chapter of the Book of Mormon a day and 5 minutes of the New Testament.
-Seminary has really messed up my BOM reading, so I'm trying to put it back on track, while still reading the required seminary reading.
5.) Stay up-to-date with AP Psychology readings.
-We have reading schedules for our AP Psychology textbook and last semester I never kept up with it. Needless to say, a class that should have been an easy A ended up being a B. Shame on me.
6.) No homework on Sunday.
-I'm really making an honest effort this year to keep my Sunday as holy as possible and no homework is helping to accomplish that goal.
7.) Blog at least once a week.
-Since it's basically my journal, I need to be doing this.
8.) Clean and straighten my room every Friday.
-My room always ends up becoming a disaster by the end of the week and Friday I never actually do anything, so why not make it a productive Friday?
9.) Drink a minimum of 3 to 4 glasses of water a day.
- Yes, I know it's supposed to be 8, but I never drink water. Baby steps.
10.) Get on my knees to pray.
-Everytime I pray, I always am laying in my bed and I think it's important to be on your knees when you pray. So bam, New Years Resolution.
11.) Get all A's.
- I don't get bad grades, but I get a mix of A's and B's. I really want to raise my GPA, so I really need to get all A's this next semester.
12.) Get at least a 30 on the ACT by the end of this year.
- My target goal is a 32, but I figure that if I get at least a 30 by the end of this year, then senior year I'll only have to worry about raising it 2 points. My score is a 26 right now, so pray for me.
13.) Be ON TIME for seminary.
-I'm almost never on time for seminary, so....
14.) Only 2 hours of computer time (and only after homework is done)
- I have a big problem with being on my computer too much and it causes me to procrastinate, which messes up my homework schedule. So that's going to stop.
Honestly, I've been doing pretty good with these resolutions so far. Yes, it's only been a week, but I've already noticed a big difference in my lifestyle. Hopefully I'll keep it up.
Oh, speaking of change, I got my hair colored darker. It's a big change and I'm not sure if I like it or not...
Happy 2013!!
XOXO

Oooo! I really like that color on you. And I hate autocorrect, which made that say "lookout! I really like that Colorado. On glum." Cause that makes much more sense...
