Highlands Ward Mutual...

After much persuasion from my friends from the Highlands Ward and my need to fulfill my October bucket list, I decided to go to the Highlands Ward youth group instead of my own Columbia Ward youth group last night. While playing "Marshmallow Baseball" sounded fun and interesting, I opted for the "Bonfire and Hayride" instead. Even though I missed having Karina with me, I was really glad that I went (and that my parents let me go). Here's how the night went....

6:15- I left my dance class early to go to my nearby high school to change into some warmer clothes.

6:30- I met my friend Lexi and her sister Abby for a quick and cheap dinner at McDonald's.

6:55- We realized that we only had 5 minutes to hurry over to the church building. (Ah!!)

7:05- We arrived at church (thankfully on time) and I shocked everyone by walking into their opening exercises. "MIKAYLA?!?!? What are you doing here???" "AHHHH MIKAYLA" "YESSS!!"

7:15- We piled into the typical mormon van, designed for seating 10 people. Lexi and I got stuck in the car that they call "The Beehive Mobile" Needless to say, when we stopped we got out of that car as fast as we could.

7:30/35- We FINALLY arrived at a house in the middle of nowhere and quickly ran away from the Beehives. We found all our guy friends and talked around the fire while roasting marshmallows as the first hayride left.

8:00- We boarded the hayride (Nick with his guitar in hand). It was really a nice, peaceful ride (since the Beehives rode the first shift of the hayride) and we got to listen to Nick sing and play guitar. The sky was so gorgeous and it wasn't too cold. Oh, did I mention that Deborah, Desiree, and Atya were there? ( The black girls that I talked about in my Girls Camp post) Deborah stuck by my side the entire time and annoyed the heck out of Nick. Anytime he didn't listen to her, she would scream in a super high pitch. Haha. I love her.

8:25- We got back to the house and said a closing prayer. There wasn't room in any of the other cars, so Lexi and I slowly (as slow as we could) headed back to the "Beehive Mobile" This time, Sister Slade thought of the genius idea of having the beehives sing Hymns so they wouldn't be as loud. Thankfully, this worked and they were relatively quiet the rest of the time (Hallelujiah!)

8:45- We finally arrived back at the church and I headed back home.

It was super fun to be able to hang out with some of my closest friends while doing some great fall activites. I dressed warm enough and I was relatively happy the whole time. I would definitely go again, but I would bring Karina next time because she would have really enjoyed it.

We tried to take a cute picture of Lexi, Deborah, and I by the fire. That didn't really work out....

Blurry.... And Deborah's face...

This would have been cute, except for we had some photobombers...

We weren't ready when Sam was taking the picture...

This one is probably the best of the bunch. It makes me laugh hahahha (:

XOXO

Sounds like so much fun! I'm glad you had a good time, although you were being kind of rude about Beehives, which just happen to be some of my favorite people.
