It's Great to Be 8!

On Wednesday, my baby sister turned 8 years old! That's right- EIGHT years old. In our church, 8 is a very special age because that's the age in which our children can be baptized. She hasn't gotten baptized yet, but she will be this coming Saturday. I am so excited for her!! It seems like just yesterday I was getting baptized. Anyways, here are a couple of pictures just from the morning of her birthday. For her birthday, my mom and dad surprised her with a day trip to the American Girl Doll Store and to get her ears pierced-so I only have pictures of her birthday in the morning . But her birthday morning started off with her opening her many presents... (this picture is blurry- it was taken with an iPhone)

A bubble wand, a Taylor Swift CD (which she has been dying to get), a "Design your Own Fashions" book, and a "My Baptism Book" were just a few of her many presents....

She was also super excited to get this GORGEOUS music box, which plays "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"- It is DARLING.

It is tradition for my Grandpa Peterson to give his grandchildren a set of scriptures for their 8th birthday. She didn't want the regular quad, so she got the 2 separate books with her name engraved on both. (Want a free Book of Mormon? Click here.)

Finally, after opening several presents, we sat down to have a birthday breakfast- complete with Strawberry Milk Straws, Cinnamon Rolls, and Orange Juice. Her Cinnamon Roll was topped with an "8" birthday candle.

I didn't get pictures of her birthday cake or anything- but it was a Raspberry Lemonade Cake (Which was super yummy) and it was topped with un-blowable birthday candles. (The ones that have a flame that doesn't blow out- no matter how hard you blow).

Happy Birthday Sophia!!!
XOXO
