Cherish the time...

Every summer I go to a camp at BYU called "Young Ambassadors Singing Entertainers'" (YASE). The BYU Young Ambassadors put it on and it is so much fun. The most fun part about it (besides performing) is meeting all the awesome counselors because they're always super nice and cool. Two of the counselors that were there this past year were Taylor and Bailee. Taylor is the president of Young Ambassadors and Bailee's job was to make sure the camp ran smoothly. I guess some sort of romance sparked between the two because last night they got engaged!! I was so excited, that is until I heard what happened this morning.

Taylor, Taylor's younger sister, and Bailee were driving to Arizona when they got into a really bad car wreck. Luckily Bailee got out with just a few bruises, but Taylor's younger sister (Madeline) was instantly killed and Taylor was hospitalized with a broken neck and had to go into an emergency surgery. Not only were they some of my counselors, but i'm also friends with Taylor's other sister (MarShae). I can't even imagine what she is going through right now. From the looks of her Facebook page, it looks like she is trying to stay positive, but I can't even imagine how she feels right now.

As I was scrolling through and seeing all my YASE friends' Facebook statuses about the loss of MarShae's sister and the condition of Taylor, I came across another YASE counselor's status that really stuck with me. She said " May we all say 'I love you' and squeeze each other extra tight today." It is so true. I know that I personally need to show more love towards the people I care about, especially because you never know what can happen. Look at Taylor and Bailee, they had just gotten engaged HOURS before and then found themselves devastated and in the hospital.

We need to treat people like it's the last time we are going to see them, every time we see them. We need to be more patient and loving to those we love and we need to constantly tell those around us how much we love and appreciate them, for we never know if it will be the last time or not.

I'm so grateful that, no matter what, families can be together forever. I'm grateful that the Morris family is LDS so that they have peace in knowing that they will get to live with Madeline again someday. I'm also so grateful for the power of prayer. I testify that it truly makes a difference and that Heavenly Father really does listen and care.

Please keep the Morris family in your prayers, especially Taylor- as he is still in the hospital and I don't know what his current condition is.

I love you all and appreciate you so much.

This is Madeline, Taylor and Marshae's sister. Isn't she gorgeous?

I'm so sorry to hear about that. How sad. Turns out Taylor's family is in the same ward as my friend Jennifer. Weird, huh? I'm so grateful for the gospel knowledge we have.
