The other day, when I was in the shower, I noticed something that I'd never noticed before. My shampoo bottle had an expiration date. I don't know why I'd never noticed this before, but I was amazed. Why was I so amazed with an expiration date? I mean, I see expiration dates everyday- on milk cartons, on chip bags, and on basically everything I own. But, to me, this wasn't just any ordinary expiration date, this was a glimpse into the future. As I looked at the expiration date, I sat and pondered about 2016. I thought...
In 2016,
- Where will I be?
- What will my major be?
- Will I have a boyfriend?
- Will I still have kept in contact with my friends?
- Which college will I be at?
- Will I have a lot of friends?
- Will I have a job?
- If so, what will it be?
- Will I be engaged?
- Or getting ready to go on a mission?
- Will I still be striving to achieve my dreams?
And, just think, all of these questions ran through my brain just because I looked at an expiration date. An expiration date. A simple image that is seen everyday, but just never acknowledged, never given it's full value.
XOXO
